Robert whittaker is determined to redeem himself from his last defeat in UFC and promises to hurt his next opponent, Paulo borrachinha, in a fight valid for edition number 298 on February 17th. The Australian, who is a former middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg), said he is hungrier than ever and wants to show that he is still one of the best in the division.
Whittaker is coming off a knockout suffered by the South African Dricus du Plessis, in July, which shook his confidence and status in the rankings. To recover, he chose to face Borrachinha, who had two previous cancellations for the match in the organization.

In a press conference on Thursday (01/02), the former champion stated that he made some adjustments to his game and his mentality after the defeat to Du Plessis and that he is ready to shine again in the octagon. He reveals that he not only wants to win, but also to hurt Borrachinha, as a way of demanding respect and showing that he should be feared.
“The fight against Du Plessis was a good wake-up call. There is something good in almost everything about fighting. We went back to training, we saw and took things away, but we also added several others. I made adjustments that made me even better. I'm hungry for the fight, more than ever. Just focusing on getting that animal back. I don’t just want to win, but to hurt Paulo Costa (Borrachinha)”, declared the former UFC champion.
O UFC 298 is scheduled to take place on February 17th, in the city of Anaheim, California. In addition to the fight between Whittaker and Borrachinha, the event should feature other attractions, such as a fight for the featherweight belt (up to 65,7kg) between Alexander Volkanovsky e Ilia Topuria.
