Frankie Edgar confirmed as new member of the UFC Hall of Fame

Former lightweight champion joins the ‘Modern Wing’ category and joins names like Saint-Pierre, Khabib and Cormier

Present at ‘Scotiabank Arena’, in Toronto (CAN), to follow the UFC 297, Frankie Edgar His career was celebrated by the event's organizers and spectators. During one of the breaks on the card, the company confirmed the appointment of the former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg) to the Hall of Fame in the ‘Modern Wing’ category. With the right to video, the veteran did not hide his emotion.

A representative of Ultimate between 2007 and 2022, Edgar represented the elite in all categories in which he competed. Throughout his career in the company, the North American performed among lightweight, featherweight (up to 65,7kg) and bantamweight (up to 61,2kg) categories.

The peak of Frankie's career came in 2010, when the fighter assumed the lightweight throne. To win the belt, the athlete went through the legendary B.J. Penn.

At featherweight, Edgar competed for the title on three occasions, two on a permanent basis and one on an interim basis. All three times, the North American ended up overmatched.

Frankie's last years were at bantamweight. In the group, the veteran had four clashes, having won one.

Hall of Fame – Modern Wing Category

Inserted in Hall of Fame, in the ‘Modern Wing’ category, Edgar will join true legends of the company.
