GP champion of the extinct PRIDE and former holder of the UFC light heavyweight belt, Mauritius Shogun He is currently experiencing a very different moment than his past glories, with three defeats in his last four fights – something unprecedented in his career in MMA. Even in the face of adversity, anyone who thinks that the Curitiba native is considering retiring is mistaken. In an interview, the fighter himself tried to dispel rumors about the end of his professional career.

“It (retirement) never really crossed my mind. Quite the contrary, I always plan to keep fighting. If I'm the guy who's going to get in there to fight, I'm happy to do that and the UFC, which is the one who promotes my fights and has me on the show, is happy, why would I stop fighting? It doesn’t make much sense,” said Maurício, in an interview with the North American channel “FOX Sports”.
