Conor McGregor donates more than R$150 to the recovery of ex-Bellator seriously injured in training

McGregor expressed solidarity with Ryan Curtis, who lost movement in his legs and arm after a serious spinal injury

Most popular name in MMA history, Conor McGregor He is known for 'flaunting' his immense fortune with luxury items such as cars and boats. Last weekend, however, the Irishman used his money for a great cause.

Through a post on social media, McGregor revealed that he donated £25 (approximately R$154) to compatriot Ryan Curtis, a former Bellator fighter, who suffered a devastating injury during a training session and lost the use of both legs and of the left arm.

The injury was initially publicized by Bellator athlete Leah McCourt, a close friend of Curtis, on social media. According to the fighter, the Irishman suffered injuries to his back, neck and spine during a training session last Thursday (11).

According to McCourt, Ryan Curtis' injury was classified as the most severe that can occur to the spine. The fighter was rushed to a hospital in Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland, and underwent surgery.

“Ryan will never be able to do what he loves again, train or fight MMA. A sport he dedicated his life to since he was 11 years old,” lamented McCourt.

Ryan Curtis has been an MMA professional since 2015. The Irishman has a professional record of six wins and four losses and stints in Bellator and Cage Warriors, an event in which he had his last fight, in April last year, when he was submitted by Nicolas Leblond in the first round.
