“I'm on a ten-fight unbeaten streak. He was undefeated in nine fights, waiting for a title shot and being left aside. He knows what it's like to be left out. (…) When you were on that streak, you were winning Rafael dos Anjos, Donald Cerrone, Gunnar Nelson, guys who weren't in the top 5. I have four wins against top 5 fighters. I have wins over the best in the world. Demian Maia, one of the best grapplers. Wonderboy, one of the best strikers. Vincent Luque, one of the best finishers. Sean brady, a victory that is worth even more now that he has dominated Kelvin Gastelum. I'm dominating guys who are on a winning streak and you act like it's nothing”, said the fighter.

In the last ten times he entered the octagon, Belal Muhammad | he just didn't emerge victorious precisely when he faced Leon edwards, in 2021. On that occasion, the current champion accidentally punched the American in the eye and the fight ended without result. Since then, the Palestinian descendant has won victories over some of the biggest names in the category.

“He talks about jumping the queue. Is this guy acting dumb or is he dumb? I'm not jumping the queue. I took all the stairs up here. I had to beg for the best fights. I had to fight Gilbert Burns weeks in advance. Nothing was given to me. The fact that he belittles this and disrespects my resume is what makes me the most angry,” said Belal.
