Former heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg) of the UFC, Fabricio Werdum shared a curious story about a training session he had with Curtis blaydes, next opponent of Jailton Malhadinho, the main Brazilian hope in the UFC heavyweight division.
On his podcast, “Nem me Viu”, Werdum revealed that he landed two high kicks to Blaydes' face, opening cuts on both of the North American's eyebrows, who had to go to the hospital. The training took place in 2015, at Kings MMA, a gym led by Rafael Cordeiro, the year in which he became Ultimate champion.

Blaydes, who at the time was not yet hired by UFC, arrived at the gym looking for sparring and ended up coming across “Vai Cavalo”.
“We went to train with everything properly, shin guards, boxing gloves and everything. We always treat people who come there to train very well, but the training is firm. I took the ‘high kick’ and it exploded here (eyebrow). I asked the master to stop, but he wanted to train some more. Then I ‘called’ (the high kick), he caught it on the other side and cut it too. It opened on both sides and he had to go to the hospital to have it sewn up”, Werdum narrated.
Jailton Malhadinho, who was present on the podcast, is precisely the next opponent of Curtis blaydes. The fight, which could guarantee the Brazilian a title shot, takes place at UFC 299, on March 9, in Miami (USA).
