Twice challenger for the welterweight belt (up to 77,1kg.), Stephen Thompson bet on Leon edwards in the title fight against Colby covington No. UFC 296. In an interview with 'MMA fighting', the veteran argued in favor of the champion, who is looking for the second defense of his throne this Saturday (16).

“I think the fight will be fought on the feet. Not even (Kamaru) Usman could keep Edwards on the ground. In the first confrontation (between Usman and Edwards), Leon managed to take him down, something Colby was unable to do. Leon is better at striking, and the only advantage Colby has is in cardio. Edwards is dangerous from start to finish. (…) I think the champion will keep the fight going and will be superior,” said Thompson.
