UFC 179 is approaching, and José Aldo, UFC featherweight champion, tried to add more spice to his rivalry with his next opponent, the American Chad Mendes.

The Brazilian participated in a question and answer session with the official UFC website, in which Aldo was expected to briefly give his opinion on various topics. When asked about Team Alpha Male, where Mendes trains, Aldo didn't hesitate: “Customer”, he replied.

Aldo has already defeated two fighters from the North American team, having beaten Urijah faber in 2010 and Mendes himself in 2012. His training partner at the Nova União academy Renan Barao beat Faber twice, despite having lost the UFC bantamweight belt to another fighter on the team, TJ Dillashaw.

However, when the topic was his next rival, Aldo was more political and used the word “challenging”. Regarding the UFC lightweight belt, the Brazilian stated that it is “an achievement for the future”. Finally, Aldo classified the weight cut as “difficult” and said that his training partner Renan Barao is “champion”.
