In times of social media, news often ends up leaking first on social media. Twitter and even the characters themselves can be responsible for big holes. That's what the Irish featherweight tried to do Conor McGregor. In the early hours of this Thursday (02), already in the early hours of the morning in Europe, Conor went to the microblogging network and announced his next fight in the UFC.

“I will face the Diego Sanchez in Mexico, on November 15th. He talked about a great fight and now he's going to pay with his career. VIVA LA EIRE!”, the fighter published on his official profile. The news quickly spread and doubts began to arise about what led Northern Irishman Norman Parke, Sanchez's original opponent, to leave the event.

However, it only took a few hours for the mystery to be solved. When contacted, UFC president Dana White denied the news released by McGregor. “This kid is crazy. No, he won't (fight the Diego Sanchez). He wants to, but he won’t,” said the manager, in response to the North American channel ESPN via text message.

Conor McGregor comes off a dominant victory over Dustin poirier at UFC 178, last Saturday (27). At 26 years old, the Irishman has a professional record of 16 wins and two losses. Currently, “The Notorious”, as he is known, occupies fourth position in the official Ultimate rankings in the featherweight category and is considered one of the favorites to be the next challenger for the division's belt.
