Eternal rivalry? Deiveson Figueiredo opens the door for his fifth fight with Brandon Moreno

The now bantamweight was willing to face the Mexican fighter once again, if he decides to move up a division in the future

Who thought that the rivalry between Deiveson Figueiredo e Brandon Moreno came to an end at UFC Rio, which took place last January, could be an incredible surprise. In an interview after the ufc austin, held last Saturday (02), the former flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg) praised the Mexican fighter and opened the door to a possible fifth duel, if his rival moves up a category.

“It was really incredible to fight against (Brandon) Moreno. He's one of the best guys throwing quick jabs at flyweights. Fighting with a bantamweight guy, knowing that he likes jabs too, I felt calm about it. I knew I would stay away from his jabs, despite receiving some there. I'm healthy, happy in the category where I am. If he comes here (to bantamweight), we can have a fifth fight, that’s for sure,” said Deiveson.

Deiveson and Moreno faced each other four times between 2020 and 2023 and the record, so far, is positive in favor of the Mexican who won two clashes and was defeated in one, with a draw recorded in the quadrilogy. Last Saturday (02), Figueiredo debuted in the bantamweight division with a victory over the experienced Rob font in the unanimous decision of the judges.
