One of the biggest names in MMA, Conor McGregor may have a new challenge ahead: boxing without gloves. At least that's what Eddie Alvarez, former UFC champion and former rival of the Irishman, thinks, who stated that the star has the necessary qualities to do well in the sport.

Alvarez, who debuted in April at Bare Knuckle FC, a bare-knuckle boxing event, said in an interview with the Morning Kombat program that Notório has a fighting style suitable for this type of combat, which requires more agility and precision than brute strength.

“I think he has a good style. The style of fencing, where you go in and out, and you don't take hits to throw blows, and it's not a Mexican style of fighting. It's conducive to bareknuckle. The bouncing, back and forth style of hitting you makes for a very good bare-knuckle fighter. Conor McGregor it has the same style. I think he would do well. It’s just a matter of him being able to get out of that contract (with the UFC) and make something happen,” explained Alvarez.

McGregor, who already ventured into traditional boxing in 2017, when he lost to Floyd Mayweather, did not rule out the possibility of trying bare-knuckle boxing in the future. In May this year, he attended a BKFC event and stole the show by climbing into the ring, facing Mike Perry and display the organization's belt.

However, Conor still has commitments to the UFC, where he is the company's biggest star. He is recovering from a broken leg suffered in the trilogy against Dustin poirier, in July 2021, and should return to the octagon in 2024.
