The name of the former UFC heavyweight champion Frank mir has been missing from the news regarding new commitments inside the octagon. Since losing to alistair overeem, in February, the North American was not listed for any future fight, and there is no prediction on when his return to fighting will be. This has caused rumors to arise regarding the 35-year-old fighter's future.

A few months ago, Mir ruled out any possibility of hanging up the gloves in the near future, as he still considers himself young to fight at heavyweight. Now, however, the speech is different: the fighter admits that he still doesn't know if he will return to active duty in the future.

"I really do not know. I'm kind of taking some time off and putting everything in the balance. This is a decision that my family and I are still trying to make, and we have not yet reached a conclusive idea”, said Mir, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Fight Corner”.

Mir was UFC heavyweight champion in 2004, although he did not make any defense after suffering a motorcycle accident that took him out of action for more than a year. Years later, he returned to a prominent position by winning the interim belt in the category. Currently, his phase inside the octagon is not good, as he comes from four consecutive defeats – his last victory was in December 2011, when he submitted Rodrigo Minotauro.
