Even though he won the main fight of UFC Fight Night 51, in Brasília (DF), Andrei Arlovski may be out of activity for up to six months. According to the list of medical suspensions for the event, published by the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission, the Belarusian must stay away from any type of physical contact for 180 days due to an injury to his wrist.
However, Arlovski could be released before this period by an orthopedist if he presents an x-ray of the injury. Antonio Pezão, who was knocked out at the event, received a minor suspension, with 60 days without fighting and 45 days without physical contact.
The other fighters who received longer suspensions were defeated at UFC FN 51. Efrain Escudero, surpassed by Leonardo Santos, could be sidelined for a semester unless he presents an MRI scan of his knee to an orthopedist. Piotr Halmann, defeated by Gleison Tibau in the co-main event, also received a six-month suspension and could be released sooner by a maxillofacial specialist.
