Bellator 301 features two title fights and Patricky Pitbull in lightweight tournament semifinals

This Friday (17), Bellator 301 presents MMA fans with a card full of big names and stories. Headlined by the welterweight (under 77,1kg) belt fight between the undefeated champion Yaroslav Amosov and the packed challenger jason jackson, the event also features the unification of the linear and interim rooster belts (61,2kg) and with Patricky Pitbull looking for a place in the final of the lightweight tournament (up to 70,3kg) and four more Brazilians in action.

Undefeated in his career with 27 wins in 27 fights, Yaroslav Amosov is looking for the second defense of his welterweight belt (under 77,1kg). Champion since June 2021, when he dethroned the Brazilian Douglas lima, the Ukrainian returned from a hiatus of almost two years, when he was part of the front line of the Ukrainian army in the war against Russia, and defended and unified the title against the then linear champion Logan storley, in February this year.

The challenger of the time is jason jackson. Second placed in the welterweight rankings, the Jamaican guaranteed the chance to fight for the title by accumulating six consecutive victories in the circular cage, the last of which over the former champion Douglas lima, in July last year.

The welterweight category is not the only one to feature a title fight at Bellator 301. In the co-main fight of the night, the lineal bantamweight champion (up to 61,2 kg) Sergio Pettis puts the throne on the line in a duel of unification against interim champion Patchy mix.

Undefeated since leaving the UFC for Bellator in 2020, Sergio Pettis has already had two belt defenses in the organization's bantamweight division, the last of which was over Patrick Pitbull, in June.

On the other side, Patchy mix arrives for the dispute fueled by five consecutive victories in the circular cage, the last of which included winning the tournament title and the interim belt against Raufeon Stots, in April.

Patricky Pitbull seeks place in lightweight tournament final

The only Brazilian representative on the Bellator 301 main card, Patricky Pitbull faces Russian Alexander Shabliy in a duel valid for the semifinals of the organization's lightweight tournament (under 70,3kg).

Former champion of the category, the native of Rio Grande do Norte comes from a technical knockout victory over compatriot Roberto Satoshi in the quarterfinals, held at 'Bellator x Rizin 2', in July. On the other hand, Shabliy arrives on the back of eight consecutive victories, the last four in Bellator's circular cage and the last over Tofiq Musayev, in the quarterfinals, in March.

The winner of the duel between Patricky Pitbull and Alexander Shabliy advances to the tournament's big decision to face, initially, the current champion of the category Usman Nurmagomedov. The Russian's participation, however, is in doubt, due to the recent case of being caught during an anti-doping test.

Brazil strong on the preliminary card

Se Patricky Pitbull is the only representative from Brazil on the main card, the Bellator 301 preliminary card is full of Brazilians. Marcelo Golm, Matheus Mattos, Killys Mota and Jefferson Pontes are responsible for representing the country in the preliminary portion of the event, scheduled to start at 19pm.
