Until eternity didn't seem that long. At least in the case of Thiago Silva and Ultimate, the measure of the endless, lasted exactly 212 days. On February 7th, after his arrest in the United States, the Brazilian was fired by the main MMA organization on the planet and was told by president Dana White that he would “never fight in the UFC again”. This Friday (05), however, Thiago announced that he is back in the octagon, after having all complaints against him dropped.
The announcement of Thiago's return to Ultimate was made by the fighter's team, Blackzilians, through his social media profile. “We are proud to announce that Thiago Silva is officially back in the UFC. We sincerely thank the UFC and hope to see him fighting again in January,” the academy announced.
In February, Thiago Silva was arrested in Fort Lauderdale, in the US state of Florida, after breaking into jiu-jitsu coach Pablo Popovitch's gym and threatening several people with a firearm, including his ex-wife Thaysa Kamiji. The Brazilian's detention also had spectacular moments, with the broadcast of his pursuit by a SWAT team (special tactical force of the US police) being broadcast in real time on TV.
Even released after paying bail, Thiago was facing serious assault with a firearm, resisting arrest and two counts of serious assault until this Thursday (04). On that date, the Broward County Prosecutor's Office decided to close the case. According to the North American website “TMZ”, the decision was motivated by Thaysa's lack of cooperation with the investigations, and the court considered that it was likely that the ex-wife had moved outside the United States.
