Permanently retired from MMA since April 2011, the member of Hall of Fame UFC fighter will be the second mixed martial arts athlete to participate in an edition of the program “Dancing with the Stars” (original version of “Dança dos Famosos”), on the North American channel ABC. Couture, who also stood out in cinema for his participation in the franchise “The Expendables”, was confirmed this Thursday (04) as a member of the 19th season of the celebrity dance show.

Coincidentally, the first MMA athlete to participate in “Dancing with the Stars” was Chuck Lidell, Randy Couture's biggest rival in the octagon. In the 9th season of the program, shown in 2009, Lidell, who was still active at that time, was joined by professional dancer Anna Trebunskaya and was the fifth participant eliminated.

I really enjoyed the training and even discovered some muscles that I didn’t know I had”, commented Couture, in an interview reproduced by the “MMA Junkie” website.
