MMA fans could be in for a surprise in the next fight alistair overeem. The Dutchman, who faces Ben Rothwell on September 5th at UFC Fight Night 50, appeared in a photo with a much leaner look than that seen in his recent fights.
Asked by a follower of his Twitter Regarding his weight, Overeem said he was 95 kg, that is, just 2 kg above the limit for the lower category, light heavyweight. To give you an idea, in his last fight, in February, against Frank mir, the former Strikeforce champion weighed in at 116, which represents a difference of 21 kg in six months.
In another photo, Overeem appears alongside his training partner Donald Cerrone, and the difference in size between fighters is not that big when comparing a heavyweight with a lightweight (up to 70 kg).
