Donald Cerrone and Bobby Green will be in the co-main fight of UFC 178 in September

Respectively fourth and seventh among lightweights, athletes are on a good winning streak

The UFC confirmed that Donald Cerrone e Bobby Green will be the co-main fight of UFC 178, which will be held on September 27th in Las Vegas, United States.

The announcement confirms Cerrone as one of the most active athletes in recent times in the UFC. Over the past year, the “Cowboy” has had an incredible five fights, three in 2014, obtaining, in this period, one defeat and four victories. In his last fight, against Jim Miller, in July, he won by knockout, which guaranteed him fourth place in the lightweight rankings.

Green is also on a great winning streak, with eight wins, the last four of which were in the UFC. In his most recent fight, also in July, he defeated Josh thomson in a tight decision by the judges. Currently, Green is seventh in the division. His original UFC 178 opponent, Jorge masvidal, was moved to face James Krause at the same event.

The main fight of UFC 178 would be between Jon Jones e Daniel Cormier, valid for the organization's light heavyweight belt. However, with the champion's injury, the new main event will be between Demetrious Johnson and Chris Cariaso, in a fight that will put the flyweight title at stake.
