Jon Jones: 'I would immediately accept a superfight against Chris Weidman'

Champion also gave his opinion on the commercial appeal of the duel and said he believed the confrontation would sell well

At the beginning of the year, Jon Jones disregarded the chances of facing Chris Weidman and stated that Cain Velazquez it was the only name he considered for a hypothetical superfight. It only took six months for the light heavyweight title holder to change his mind. Possibly excited by Weidman's victory over Lyoto Machida in July, Jones left the door open for a duel between champions in the future and said he would readily accept a fight against his compatriot.

“Oh, man, it would be great (to do this super fight). I would absolutely accept the opportunity to have a super fight against the Chris Weidman. I respect him a lot as a person and as a champion, and I believe this fight would sell very well”, said “Bones”, as he is known, in an interview with the “Sherdog” website. It's worth remembering that Weidman himself recently stated that he would also be interested in a superfight against Jones.
