the fight between Jon Jones e Daniel Cormier, during a press conference to promote UFC 178, gave something to talk about in the MMA world. Moments after the first images of the chaos were released, several UFC athletes, coaches and employees spoke out on social media.
UFC president Dana White did not attend the press conference, as he is on vacation on the island of Bora Bora, in the Pacific Ocean. However, the Ultimate boss didn't let the confusion go unnoticed.
I just landed in Bora Bora for my first vacation in a while and it's starting off perfect!!! @dc_mma and @JonnyBones

Dave Sholler, UFC public relations director and White's replacement as mediator of the “face-offs” at the press conference, commented on the episode in a humorous way after showing astonishment during the fight.

Matt hugs (former UFC welterweight champion):
@dc_mma @JonnyBones Chances are you 2 won't read this but what you've done is bad for the sport. I would stop talking about it.
— Matt hugs (@matthughes9x) August 4th, 2014
– You two may not read this, but what you did was bad for the sport. If it were me, I wouldn't talk about it anymore.
Joseph Benavidez (UFC flyweight):

Anthony Johnson (UFC light heavyweight):
– Everyone is talking about the fight, but it is sad. It's things like this that MMA fans love, but that make big sponsors still question MMA. It doesn't surprise me that Nike, Gatorade, etc. don't want to sponsor the sport!
