The fighter Mayura Dissayanake gained worldwide fame when she prevented a robbery in the city of Houston, in the United States. The Sri Lankan athlete, who has a modest MMA record of two wins and one loss, works at a gas station and managed to attacking three thieves and subduing one of them until the police arrived. With the repercussion of the fact, Dissayanake was invited to train with stars such as Anderson Silva e Lyoto Machida.

The North American Kenny Johnson, leader of the Black House, teams thewhere they train names like Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida e Glover Teixeira, was the one who invited the fighter.
“I want that fighter from the convenience store to come train with us. I want him for sure. As soon as I saw that video, and I saw that he was from Houston, I started calling some people there like, 'Do you know this guy?'. So whoever you are, I don't remember your name, if you're watching this, come train with us. Kenny Johnson and Ed Soares are telling you to come train at Black House, 100%. His skills are good, he's a big guy, and we need big guys here. Please come from Texas, you can train muay thai with Daniel Woirin, wrestling with me, jiu-jitsu with whoever you want. We have 20 guys who are black belts here. Please come train with us. It would be fantastic,” said Kenny Johnson during the series Static Live Hangout
In the episode, another employee at the station, a colleague of Dissayanake, was returning from the bank when he was approached by two criminals, who intended to rob him while a third accomplice waited for them in a vehicle in the parking lot. Seeing the action, the fighter didn't think twice, left his work station and gave the duo a real beating. One of the assailants managed to escape, but the other continued to receive blows from Mayura until he was completely immobilized. With the athlete's help, the police ended up arresting Odell Mathis, 33, on charges of robbery with bodily injury.
