"I will come back. I'm just sad because I had a great camp and I was ready to show my best skills. And I'm sad because it happened in the second round. (…) We have plans, but God has different plans. His plan is always the best,” said Fiziev.
Last Saturday (23), Fiziev faced Mateusz gamrot in the main fight of UFC Las Vegas 79. In the second round, the Kyrgyz athlete attempted a low kick and ended up injuring his knee, which forced him to abandon the fight and have his defeat declared by the central referee.
Number seven in the lightweight ranking, Fiziev suffered his second consecutive defeat in the organization, both in the 2023 season, and moves further away from the top-5 of the category led by Islam makhachev. At 30 years of age, the Kyrgyz fighter has a professional MMA record of 12 positive results and only three negative results.
