Urijah Faber faces newcomer Masanori Kanehara at UFC Japan in September

California Kid has his first fight outside of North America on the main card of the event at Saitama Super Arena

To date, in 39 fights as a professional, the veteran Urijah faber He has never worked outside of North America – having had 38 fights in the United States and one in Canada. On September 20th, at the mythical Saitama Super Arena, the “California Kid” will make his belated international debut against newcomer Masanori Kanehara. The fight takes place on the main card of UFC Fight Night 52, also known as UFC Japan.

At 35, Urijah faber has a record of 31 wins and seven losses. The former champion of the extinct WEC is coming off a victory over Alex Caceres at UFC 175, held on July 5th. Masanori Kanehara, 31 years old, has a record of 23 wins, eleven defeats and five draws. The Japanese made his career at the local ZST event and had stints at Pancrase, Shooto, K-1 and Deep.

UFC Fight Night 52 takes place on September 20th, at the Saitama Super Arena, in Saitama (Japan). In the main fight of the night, the New Zealander Mark Hunt face the “fat guy” Roy Nelson, in a fight valid for the heavyweight category. The main card also features a duel between the former champion of the now-defunct Strikeforce Miesha Tate and home athlete Rin Nakai.
