Junior Cigano reveals what motivates him to continue in MMA and warns about retirement

Former UFC champion talks about his victory over Fabrício Werdum, passion for the sport and the right time to hang up his gloves

Former heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg) of the UFC, Junior Gypsy, at 39 years old, recently revealed that he has no immediate plans to retire from the world of MMA.

The Brazilian, who made his MMA debut without gloves with victory over Fabrício Werdum at Gamebred FC, shared his feelings about his performance and future in the sport.

“Now I go to the gym and analyze my performance. I love what I see, everything is there. I want to continue. It's a little dangerous for me, but at the moment I feel great”, said the fighter, in an interview with TMZ Sports.

When is Junior Cigano's next fight?

The 'Gamebred FC' event, a bare-knuckle MMA competition, is promoted by the former UFC title challenger Jorge masvidal. The fight between Cigano and Werdum was the main attraction of the event, which took place at the VySar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. 

PUBLICITY:

Cigano beat Werdum by split decision from the judges and repeated the result of the first time they faced each other in the UFC, in 2008. The fans in the arena cheered with Cigano's triumph, who was excited when his arm was raised by the referee. He must face Alan belcher e Roy Nelson, who will face each other on October 28th for the division's inaugural belt.
