With confirmation that Vitor belfort will face Chris Weidman at UFC 181 in Las Vegas (USA), many Brazilian fans were worried about the country's fate on the organization's calendar until the end of the year, especially after rumors that UFC 179 could be transferred to the United States. In view of this, Ultimate released a statement on its official website in which it guarantees the completion of the pay-per-view in Brazil, with a title fight, and three other events.

“For the UFC it is a privilege and a great pleasure to host four more events in Brazil. It’s a way for us to repay all the affection from the Brazilian public. The country is a hotbed of fans, fighters and champions. What we can anticipate, as a gift for our fans, is that UFC 179 will be here in Brazil”, said Grace Tourinho, director of UFC in Brazil. The venue for the October 25th card, however, has not been revealed. Its taking place in Rio de Janeiro had already been taken for granted, but in recent days the capital of Paraná, Curitiba, entered the competition to host the night of fights, at the Arena da Baixada stadium.

Despite not revealing the names of the athletes who will participate in the title fight based in Brazil, the most likely is that the protagonists will be the Brazilian José Aldo and the North American challenger Chad Mendes. The rematch for the featherweight belt was supposed to take place on August 3rd, but ended up being postponed due to an injury suffered by Aldo. The coincidence of dates and the fact that Manauara is practically the only champion available until the end of the year make him a big favorite to top the card. Ultimate's next arrival in Brazil already has a date and place set to take place: on September 13, the federal capital Brasília will be the stage for UFC Fight Night 51, whose main fight is a duel between heavyweights Antonio Pezão e Andrei Arlovski.
