In the wake of Noche UFC, remember other title fights held at 'Fight Night' events

'Escaping' the traditional pay-per-vier; SUPER LUTAS reminds the reader of other title fights that took place in less star-studded events hosted by the organization

Traditionally, Ultimate usually places its title fights in the main fights of pay-per-view events, where MMA fans need to pay a certain amount to be able to watch the fights. But, on certain occasions, as in the Night UFC, which will take place this Saturday (16), the organization will put on a title fight in events called 'Fight Night'. Recall other cases.

Cain Velasquez x Junior Cigano – November/2011

Newly crowned heavyweight champion (up to 120,2), Cain Velazquez he would defend his first belt in the inaugural edition of 'UFC on Fox', the organization's first event in a partnership with one of the biggest TV channels in the United States. In January 2016, in the main fight of 'UFC Fight Night 81', two of the greatest bantamweights in history had a long-awaited title fight between two fighters with almost identical styles. The chosen location was the TD Garden gym, in Boston, Massachusetts (USA).

Inside the octagon, the two fighters staged one of the most balanced and exciting duels in the history of the category. After 25 minutes of war, the 'Dominador' emerged victorious in a balanced split decision from the judges and regained the bantamweight belt, which he had only lost due to the series of injuries that plagued him for much of his career.
