The UFC acted quickly to give the Irish sensation a new fight Conor McGregor. The fighter, who comes from a quick victory over Diego Brandao at UFC Fight Night 46, in Dublin, he will face Dustin poirier at UFC 178, on September 27, in Las Vegas (USA).
Poirier was one of the fighters who challenged McGregor after the Irishman's most recent performance. “The Diamante”, as he is known, comes from three consecutive victories in the UFC, including a knockout over Brandão in event number 168, held in December last year. Poirier is sixth in the Ultimate featherweight rankings, four positions ahead of McGregor.
The Irishman doesn't know what it's like to lose in 11 fights, which also includes three wins in the UFC. In his debut, he defeated Marcus Brimage with a quick technical knockout, just over a minute into the fight. Afterwards, he overcame Max Holloway in the unanimous decision of the judges.
The main fight of UFC 178 will be a rematch between Jon Jones e Alexander Gustafson, valid for the organization's light heavyweight belt.
