The main fight of UFC on FOX 12, this Saturday (26), between Robbie Lawler and Matt Brown, should name the new challenger for the Ultimate welterweight belt. Despite the importance of the fight, the current champion of the category, John hendricks, was indifferent to the possible outcome of the fight.

When giving his prediction for the fight, Hendricks said he was divided, as he sees advantages in both Lawler and Brown's victory. “Actually, I don't care about the result of Saturday's fight. There's a part of me that wants to face Robbie again, this time when he's healthy. But then again, there's another part that wants someone new. I’m torn about this fight”, said the fighter, in an interview with the “MMA Junkie Radio” podcast. “And I don't want to make a guess either, because if I say that Lawler is going to crush Brown, and then Brown goes out there and wins, I will have given him even more motivation to face me. I just want to see how the fight will play out because I see both of them with a chance of winning.”

Hendricks guaranteed that he will be in the best position to defeat the next challenger, as he sees himself increasingly prepared as an MMA fighter. “The more I train for these five-round fights, the more I improve. And I'm still young in this world. Most of the fighters I face have careers of 10, 12, 14 years, but I've only been fighting for seven. I'm still developing my striking, trying to refine it. Things are just starting to fall into place,” he assured.

Away from the UFC due to an injury, Hendricks will still make his first defense of the title, won against Lawler in March.
