North-American Ian McCall has established himself as one of the main athletes in the UFC flyweight category. After scoring his second triumph in the series, against the English Brad pickett at UFC Fight Night 46, he is already thinking about an opponent to return to the octagon.
At the press conference after the event, last Saturday, McCall, currently third in the UFC rankings, revealed that he wants to face Brazilian John Lineker, sixth in the rankings, in his next fight.
“Lineker is top 5 or something like that, and just like today, he can hit hard, but he can't touch me. Let’s see what happens,” he shot.
Despite already thinking about a possible opponent, McCall should be out of competition for some time. He revealed that he must have surgery on his right hand again, which was fractured during the fight against the Brazilian Iliarde Santos.
“I've already spoken to the guys at UFC and I'm going to operate when I get back. My hand doesn't close properly. It was a good doctor who operated on me, but I was having a bad day”, he added.
