Diego Sanchez: “I’m number 1 to fight for the belt”

After defeating Clay guida in the judges' split decision, Diego Sanchez He's already waiting for the opportunity to fight for the UFC lightweight belt. The winner of the first edition of The Ultimate Fighter hopes to face the winner of B.J. Penn e Kenny Florian, in the duel that takes place at UFC-101, on August 8th.

“Now, after beating two of the main contenders for the lightweight title (Clay guida and Joe Stevenson), I think I’m number one to fight for the belt,” said Sanchez.

“The other possible (challenging) would be Gray Maynard, which has a victory over Frankie Edgar, who has a victory over Sean Sherk, however, don't forget that Nate diaz beat Maynard on TUF and Guida defeated Diaz. So this math really makes me the number one challenger”, concluded the fighter.
