Donald Cerrone knocks out Jim Miller in UFC Fight Night 45 main event

Among the Brazilian fighters on the main card, Barboza, Lineker and Mineiro emerge with the victory; Pasta loses

The fight between Jim Miller e Donald Cerrone, main attraction of UFC Fight Night 45, this Wednesday (16), did not disappoint MMA fans. The two athletes, known for putting on exciting fights, staged an intense fight in the city of Atlantic City, New Jersey (USA). The one who came out on top was Cerrone, who did a great job with his kicks until he managed to knock out his opponent.

After a disputed first round, with good moments from Miller and his boxing, Cerrone began to make a difference in the second period. Edson Barboza made quick work of defeating Evan dunham in the evening's co-main event. Showing once again sharp and powerful kicks, the Brazilian managed to take down the North American in the first round, achieving his fifth victory by knockout/technical knockout in the UFC.

As soon as the fight began, Barboza began to impose his striking game, releasing powerful low kicks and avoiding the intentions of Dunham, who was looking to box and close the distance. At the beginning of the second half of the round, the Brazilian landed a grazing kick to the waistline, close to the stomach, which made Dunham immediately bow. Returning to the UFC after almost two years, Leonardo Macarrão he could do little in the face of favorite Rick Story. The Brazilian was no match for the American's intense game of takedowns and ended up submitting in the second round.

In the second fight on the main card, John Lineker and Alptekin Ozkilic excited the crowd in the Atlantic City gym. The two fighters showed a lot of initiative and technique in a busy fight from start to finish, with good moments from both athletes.

Lineker was the protagonist of the most dangerous moves. The Brazilian showed his usual sharp striking, with powerful blows to both the face and waistline. Ozkilic, in turn, did not shy away from the fight, accepting the frank exchange, including connecting good blows on the Brazilian.

With the result, Lineker turns things around after the defeat he suffered against Ali Bagautinov in February. Ozkilic suffered his second setback in three fights, having lost to Louis Smolka in his last performance, in January.

The premiere of lucas mineiro in the UFC featherweight division it couldn't be better. The 25-year-old Brazilian dominated the fight against Alex White and settled the score in the third round, winning by knockout.

The fight took place the entire time in striking. Showing a sharp muay thai, Mineiro had the advantage practically from the first round, connecting hard blows and shaking White on more than one occasion. After playing in the lightweight and bantamweight divisions since arriving in the UFC, Mineiro achieved victory in his featherweight debut. It was his third consecutive victory in the organization, and his only defeat came precisely in his debut, against Edson Barboza, in 2013. White, in turn, suffered his first defeat in his 11th fight in professional MMA.
