The new defeat suffered by the Brazilian team against the Netherlands, in the dispute for third place in the World Cup, also became a reason for provocation in MMA.

Dutch heavyweight alistair overeem used his Twitter account to provoke Brazilian fans during and after his country's 3-0 triumph. “Second period of excitement coming! Will there be a turnaround or another Dutch beating? Boom!”, provoked Alistair, who ended with a ‘Goodbye Brazil’.

It was enough for Overeem to provoke the Brazilian team for the Paraíba native to Antonio Pezão, a former enemy of the Dutchman, also retorted his rival via the microblog network. “Overeem is saying goodbye to Brazilian football, but he forgot that Brazil is the country of MMA”, replied Pezão, including a photo of the spectacular knockout he achieved over his rival.

If the Brazilian team lost to the Netherlands in the second consecutive World Cup, Overeem does not have a good record against Brazilian athletes. In 10 fights against fighters from the country he lost seven and won only on three occasions.
