The main fight of the UFC's first visit to Brasília has already been defined. According to the “Combate” channel website, Antonio Pezão will face Andrei Arlovski in the main attraction of the event, which will be held on September 13th at Nilson Nelson Gymnasium.
The news confirms Pezão’s intentions to play on the federal capital’s card, as his 35th birthday will be the day after the event. The Brazilian is suspended until September 7th due to irregularity in your anti-doping test after his fight against Mark Hunt, last year – therefore, he will be free to fight in Brasília.
This will be the first time that Pezão will fight in Brazil, as, to date, the athlete has already performed in England, Japan, Canada, the United States and Australia. The fight would mark a rematch between the two veteran fighters. On May 15, 2010, Pezão and Arlovski dueled at Strikeforce, in the city of St. Louis (USA), with the Brazilian winning via unanimous decision by the judges. Since then, the Brazilian has won four victories, including triumphs over Fedor Emelianenko e alistair overeem, was defeated three times and got a draw.
Arlovski, a former UFC champion, returned to the organization last month, defeating Brendan Schaub in event number 174. In total, the Belarusian has a record of 22 wins, 10 losses and one no-contest in professional MMA.
