The Brazilian Charles of the Bronx scored his second consecutive victory in the UFC. In action early this Saturday morning (28), the featherweight from São Paulo showed his ground game ability to submit Japanese Hatsu Hioki in the first round. The fight was on the main card of UFC Fight Night 43, an event held in Auckland, New Zealand.
Another Brazilian loses on debut
The UFC Fight Night 43 fight program featured, in addition to Charles, another Brazilian in action. Making his debut in the octagon, Rodrigo Monstro ended up being knocked out by Neil Magny in the second round. After a first half in which he was superior, working on his ground game, the Brazilian was unable to maintain his pace in the second round and ended up falling at 2m:32s.
