Back to MMA two years after suffering a serious injury in the octagon, Chris Weidman He showed strength, but ended up being overcome on his return to the sport. Opponent of Brad Tavares No. UFC 292, held this Saturday (19), in Boston (USA), the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg.) had flashes of good performance, however, he suffered another setback in the company. Chris Weidman's return

The fight began with the athletes studying each other in the center of the Octagon. Still in the first minute, Tavares combined a jab and direct sequence. Weidman looked for the takedown, but Brad defended well. Still at the beginning of the fight, Tavares rocked the former middleweight champion with a straight shot. Afterwards, Chris looked for another takedown, but Brad defended himself well again. In the middle of the round, Brad continued to have the advantage in the striking, while Weidman tried to shorten the fight to get the takedown. Almost in the final minute, Tavares started throwing low kicks and undermining his rival's base. The round ended with a clean uppercut from Brad to the former champion's face.

In the second round, Brad launched the first attack, with a low kick. Next, Tavares threw a high kick, which exploded in the former champion's guard. With a minute gone, Weidman threw a low kick and limped into the octagon. Visibly injured, the veteran was the victim of his rival's attacks. Halfway through the round, Chris surprised and rocked Brad with a cross. With two minutes remaining, Chris started to free himself and attempted another takedown. Tavares defended himself and tried to stop the former champion's advance. Brad managed to get away, but Weidman was 'chasing' him in the octagon. Close to the end of the stage, Weidman pressed his opponent against the bars again. Brad managed to get away and threw a high kick, which was blocked by Chris.

In the last round, Brad took the initiative, with a high kick, which exploded in the former champion's guard. With a minute gone, Tavares started a real massacre against Chris. The veteran accused the attacks and, subsequently, sought the takedown. Brad continued to defend his opponent's attacks and Weidman was showing strength, even at a disadvantage. Halfway through the round, Chris surprised again by connecting with a clean overhand to his opponent's face. Tavares continued abusing low kicks and Weidman accused his actions. The confrontation ended with the athletes facing each other in the center of the octagon.
