Cezar Mutant He still hasn't swallowed the defeat he suffered against CB Dollaway in his last fight, in March, at UFC Natal. On that occasion, the winner of the first season of TUF Brazil lost his unbeaten record in the UFC when he was knocked out just 39 seconds into the fight, after suffering a harsh counterattack from the North American.
About to return to the octagon in his fight against Andrew Craig, on June 28, Mutante revealed that he is still thinking about facing Dollaway again. “I still say CB was lucky. I haven't forgotten him. Now, I'm worried about Craig, but after this, I want a Dollaway rematch. If I fight him 10 times, I’ll win 11”, declared the Brazilian, in an interview with the “MMA Junkie” website.
In that fight, Mutante received a lot of criticism for having started the actions at a frantic pace, which many classified as haste. The fighter, however, stated that the posture presented is the result of his mentality in trying to provide an exciting fight. “I don’t like tying up my opponents. MMA is not just about fighting, but it is also entertainment. I like to put on a show and I always look for the knockout. Next time, I will do that. Guess Dollaway got lucky when my punch didn't connect.”
In his fight against Craig, Mutante hopes to be able to overcome his opponent in all the fundamentals of the fight. “He is a new generation athlete. He knows how to do everything – striking, wrestling and jiu-jitsu. It's very complete. My plan is to start with a strong rhythm and press it steadily. I want to make him uncomfortable. If he gets comfortable striking, I'll take him down and end the fight in the ground and pound. If he gets comfortable on the ground, we’ll go back to striking so I can knock him out,” he promised.
The duel between Mutante and Craig will be part of the main card of UFC Fight Night 44, which will be held in the city of San Antonio, Texas (USA).
