Retired almost 10 years ago, former UFC star offers 'death challenge' against Derrick Lewis

Veteran is willing to face Ultimate icon, who reached the end of his contract after last performance

After completing the last fight on his UFC contract, Derrick Lewis There is already a proposal for a new commitment. In conversation with Jorge masvidal, owner of Gamebred Boxing, Brendan Schaub showed himself willing to face the 'giant' in an MMA confrontation without gloves. A martial arts veteran, the athlete hasn't competed in almost 10 years.

“I heard that you (Schaub) are going to be in my organization. I also heard that Derrick Lewis is free,” said Masvidal.

Attentive, Brendan showed immediate interest in facing the greatest knockout artist in UFC history. The veteran, however, made a reservation.

"And truth. But can you do grappling? I wouldn't say 'no' to Derrick Lewis if I can use grappling,” said Schaub.

Afterwards, Masvidal did not hide his excitement. According to the prosecutor, the plan to hold the confrontation has not been ruled out.

"Derrick Lewis will debut in my organization against Brendan Schaub? Do you have any idea that people’s heads are exploding right now?” asked Jorge.

A former UFC heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg) promise, Schaub, 40 years old, has not competed since 2014. For Ultimate, the fighter made 11 appearances, accumulating six wins and five defeats throughout his career.

Record holder for knockouts in the company chaired by Dana White, Lewis fulfilled his contract after the challenge in which he brutalized Marcos Foot No. UFC 291. The 38-year-old athlete, however, did not comment on what his next step in MMA will be.
