Chad Mendes will have respectful support on August 2nd. The North American will have Muay Thai trainer Duane Ludwig in his corner in his fight against José Aldo, which will be the main attraction of UFC 176, in Los Angeles (USA).

Ludwig was the coach of Mendes' team, Team Alpha Male, until the end of last month. However, the former fighter left the city of Sacramento to return to his hometown, Denver, making room for the arrival of Martin Kampmann to the Californian team.

Even though he left the team, Ludwig will continue working with Mendes and the new bantamweight champion, TJ Dillashaw. The other team member, Urijah faber, will not have the support of his coach in his fight at UFC 175, against Alex Caceres.

Ludwig did an outstanding job during his time at Alpha Male, admittedly helping all the team's fighters to evolve in their striking game. The coach is also considered one of those largely responsible for Dillashaw's resounding victory over Renan Barao, at UFC 173. The work carried out within the team meant that “Bang”, as he is known, was awarded the “Trainer of the Year” trophy at the recently held MMA Awards.
