VIDEO: 'The Rock' gives house as a gift to UFC fighter who only had $7 in his account

Fame, luxury and money are privileges achieved by the main names in world MMA, but they do not reflect the reality of most athletes, even those who are already working in the UFC, the largest organization in the world. In the case of welterweight (up to 77,1kg) Themba Gorimbo, that started to change recently thanks to the intervention of Hollywood star Dwane 'The Rock' Johnson.

Touched by the story told by Gorimbo, who revealed that he had just US$7 (around R$35) in his bank account before his first victory in Ultimate, in UFC Las Vegas 73, in May this year, 'The Rock' decided to surprise and gift the Zimbabwean fighter with a new house.

In an emotional video published by 'The Rock' on social media, the actor says he was touched by Gorimbo's story, especially after learning that the fighter, who sleeps on the couch at the MMA Masters gym in Miami, would auction off the kit used in his victory over Takashi Sato, in May, to help finance the construction of a drinking water well in his home village in Zimbabwe instead of investing in his own career or well-being.

In the video, 'The Rock' appears by surprise during a testimony from Themba Gorimbo at the gym. After visiting the sofa where the Zimbabwean spends his nights, the actor offers the fighter a ride to meet a friend. Arriving at his destination, a furnished house, Gorimbo notices some photos of him and his family and is surprised by 'The Rock', who gives him the keys to the residence.

With the gift in hand, Themba Gorimbo He gets emotional and promises to use the money he was saving to buy a house to build another well for drinking water in his home village.
