Rocked by eight consecutive triumphs, Beneil Dariush ended up being defeated by Charles of the Bronx and stayed away from a possible fight for the lightweight belt (up to 70,3kg). Despite the setback suffered, the athlete remains positive and hopeful that he will have a second chance to change the result and come out with his arm raised against the Brazilian.

“Yes, it’s not my first time losing and it’s not my first time rebuilding. I've done this before. To be honest with you, I don't know why the fight went the way it did. But since I didn't feel it, something was missing that night. I'll fix this, I'll figure it out and I'll show you a better version for sure. I truly believe, we fight again, I win this fight. So, I have to work a lot. He was as strong as I thought he would be,” Beneil said in an interview with UFC.
