Kevin Souza is going through a good phase within the UFC. Last Saturday (May 31), the fighter achieved his second victory in his second fight in the organization by overcoming Mark Eddiva by technical knockout at TUF Brasil 3 Finale, an event held at Ginásio do Ibirapuera, in São Paulo (SP).

The victory gave the perfect start to the partnership between Souza and the CM System academy, in Curitiba, owned by former fighter Cristiano Marcello. Before, the Bahian had left the city of Florianópolis and Team Tavares, and the fighter came to think that the change would represent the end of his career.

“Personally, it made me grow a lot. When you change, you think it's the end of the world, you think it's all over. I had to leave Florianópolis and look for training in other places. I thought about going to the United States, I thought about a thousand things. I even thought my career would be over. But, thank God, I met Cristiano Marcello, a good guy, super sweet, and I arrived at CM System on the back foot. But I was hugged, they treated me wonderfully. Today, the result is there”, celebrated the fighter, in a press conference after the event in São Paulo.

Arriving at CM System presented Kevin with an opportunity to evolve his game. “I arrived in Curitiba thinking that my striking was the best in the world. When I got there, there were some guys with an absurd level, a different Muay Thai”, he praised.

The victory over Eddiva represented Souza's first knockout in the UFC. “I'm thrilled to be able to have my second fight in the UFC and rediscover my essence, which is always knocking out, trying to end the fight as quickly as possible”, said the athlete, who had won Felipe Sertanejo in September last year.
