With a card of little appeal to the North American public, the TUF Brasil 3 Final, held last Saturday (31), did not perform well in terms of audience numbers. The main card, which defined the champions of the reality show and had Fábio Maldonado x Stipe Miocic as the main fight, it had the worst result in UFC history in national broadcasts in the United States. On average, only 609 thousand viewers tuned in to the broadcast of the event on the “FOX Sports 1” channel.

The numbers are higher than those presented by broadcasts on the channels “FOX Sports 2” or on the now extinct “FUEL TV”. However, these stations do not broadcast on a national network. If compared to the last UFC event in Brazil, in Natal (RN) in March, the numbers for TUF Brasil 3 Final are even more modest. At the time, even with the card that had as main fight Mauritius Shogun x Dan Henderson, the fight night had an average audience of 963 thousand.

Interestingly, if the main card presented results that could be considered negative, the preliminary card of the night in São Paulo had a significant audience. With an average of 560 thousand spectators, the event surpassed most of the opening fights of other events promoted by the organization, including the night in Natal or even the recent UFC Fight Night 40 – held in the United States, and which had the fight that closed the program preliminary Ed Herman x Rafael Natal.
