Former flyweight champion, Deiveson speaks out after defeating former rival Pantoja at UFC 290

Executioner of Alexandre pantoja in 2019 and Brazilian predecessor on the flyweight throne (up to 56,7kg.) of Ultimate, Deiveson Figueiredo expressed himself after the consecration of his compatriot in UFC 290. On his social networks, the 'God of War' did not hide his excitement and celebrated the conquest of the new Tupiniquim star in front of Brandon Moreno.

"Congratulations, Alexandre pantoja. I am happy and moved to see your victory. Your crying while lying in the center of the octagon shows how much this achievement means to you and everyone around you. Today is the day to enjoy this victory and be happy. A small tribute for a giant achievement. The flyweight champion has a name: Pantoja”, wrote Deiveson, in his profile on Instagram.

Former leader of the division, Figueiredo shared the octagon with Pantoja in 2019. On that occasion, the man from Pará emerged victorious in the unanimous decision of the judges. In the following season, the 'God of War' would wear the belt after finishing Joseph Benavidez.

UFC representative since 2017, Alexandre was successful in his first title fight in the company. To take the top spot in the division, the Brazilian went through a true five-round battle against Brandon Moreno, beating the then champion in the judges' decision.
