Alexandre Pantoja celebrates the end of the rivalry between Moreno and Deiveson: 'The category is moving forward'

The next flyweight challenger said he deserved his chance to fight for the title and praised the high level found in the under-56,7kg division

Next challenger for the flyweight belt (up to 56,7kg), the Brazilian Alexandre pantoja was another one that celebrated the end of the sequence of fights between Brandon Moreno e Deiveson Figueiredo. In an interview with the Ultimate YouTube channel, the Brazilian athlete emphasized that the category needed new names fighting for the title and praised the high level of talent in the category.

“Yeah…I guess I had nowhere to run. I even found it strange that they (UFC) didn't schedule this fight before, because it's the only one that makes sense for the category now, I think the category needs this, this renewal, another name other than Deiveson (Figueiredo) and (Brandon ) Dark skinned. And it's not just that, with this fight confirmed with Moreno, all the other fighters in the category feel represented and know that a change is coming. We have very talented names in the division, so I don't just focus on Brandon Moreno, I focus on the entire division and I know that after winning and taking the belt, I will also have great challenges ahead,” said Pantoja.
