The World Series of Fighting event scheduled for July 5th suffered a new low. Jake Shields, who would make his debut in the organization, suffered an injury and will not be able to participate in the fight against former UFC fighter Jon Fitch. The information was initially given by the North American website MMA Fighting.

Shields, 35 years old, would have his first fight since being fired from the UFC, following his defeat to Hector Lombard in March. He entered the fight as a replacement for WSOF welterweight champion, Rousimar Toquinho, who left the event due to her mother's illness.
