Travis Browne is going through a period of reflection after his latest fight. Last month, the North American was defeated by Fabricio Werdum at UFC on FOX 11, which cost him the opportunity to challenge for the organization's heavyweight belt.
In an interview with “The MMA Hour” podcast, Browne admitted that the period he is going through is not the easiest. “It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to deal with because I don't make excuses. Werdum gave me a beating, and that's what I need to face”, commented the fighter.
The defeat, which interrupted a sequence of three knockouts, made Browne rethink his entire method of preparing for a fight. “I need to understand what I need to do in the future to change this. I need to go back and reevaluate a lot of things in my career and figure out what I need to fix to be successful again,” he added.
Browne, 31 years old, has a record of 16 wins, two losses and one draw in professional MMA. His two setbacks were to Brazilian athletes – before losing to Werdum, he had already been defeated by Antonio PezãoIn 2012.
