Defeated by Max Holloway, Arnold Allen aims for a duel against former featherweight challenger

One of the main featherweight prospects (up to 65,7kg), arnold allen had his rise halted by the former champion Max Holloway No. UFC Kansas City, at the beginning of March. Still dreaming of a title fight in the future, the English fighter asked for a duel against the veteran and former challenger Brian ortega. The statement was made in an interview with 'Sky Sports'.

“This is probably the matchup that makes the most sense. We are both in the same position. We are looking for redemption. He had his title shot. I'm still trying to earn mine. This is the guy to get me back there. A win against him and we’ll be back in the title conversation,” said Allen.

The Englishman praised Ortega's skills and said that the possible duel would be a good main fight of a UFC event.

"He is fantastic. He is a great competitor. Very good jiu-jitsu and is showing very good knockout power, he has beaten some great strikers too. I'm sure he'll come back better than ever from this injury. So he's looking to bounce back and earn a title shot again. I'm looking to recover. It would be a great fight. I think this is a main fight of some event, for sure”, concluded the Englishman.

Number four in the division ranking led by Alexander Volkanovsky, Allen suffered his first defeat against Holloway wearing the organization's gloves. Now, the European fighter has a record of 19 triumphs and two setbacks as a professional.
