Glover Teixeira remembers his last moments in MMA and analyzes the possibility of venturing into boxing

In an exclusive interview with Super Lutas, former light heavyweight champion does not rule out a possible fight against legends in the noble art

Retired since being defeated by Jamahal hill No. UFC 283, Glover Teixeira stays active in mixed martial arts while training his athletes at his gym. Veteran of the sport, the Minas Gerais native spoke exclusively to SUPER FIGHTS about his last steps in MMA and recalled his feelings during preparation for his final fights. According to the 43-year-old fighter, the body was already retreating.

"I am fine. The last few fights were pretty brutal for me. I was already fed up with cutting weight, I was fed up with always being on a diet and everything. There comes a time when we need to do it as long as we like it. Everyone says: 'I don't do it for the money'. It's not just talking, it's doing. It doesn't matter to say 'Ah, the good salary I have now, it took me a while to get to that salary'. I still have a contract with the UFC. If I fight again, I would have a good salary. Now I want to enjoy and see my friends being champions,” said Glover.

Despite refusing to fight just for money in the UFC, Glover highlighted that the condition that would interest him in fighting would be in boxing and against veterans who were compatible with his age.

“If it’s not to fight for the belt, for this opportunity, I don’t want to fight just for the money. If it's to fight for money, then I would really like to do a boxing fight. I would be doing something new, with older, retired guys. Who knows, right… Fighting a boxing legend. Anthony Pettis He just faced Roy Jones Jr, who is a boxing legend.
