The likely fight between the muses Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano gained an important supporter to get out of the role. The UFC women's bantamweight champion herself was in favor of the idea, stating that the fight would make sense and make history in MMA among women.

Rousey is named by UFC president, Dana White, as one of the biggest stars who are part of the organization. To date, she has had three fights inside the octagon, beating Liz Carmouche, Miesha Tate e Sara McMann. At the moment, her category is scarce in challengers, and Carano's name has emerged as an alternative.

Carano, 31, was the biggest star in women's MMA at the end of the last decade, racking up seven wins and one loss. The setback was against the Brazilian Chris Cyborg, in 2009, in a fight that marked the American's withdrawal from fighting.

Currently dedicating herself to her acting career, Gina Carano has already shown herself open to signing with the UFC. Ronda Rousey, in turn, believes that combat would make perfect sense. “I think it would be the best for women’s MMA. It would be the most appealing fight that could be made. I don't think it would make sense for her to come back and fight another opponent, running the risk of losing and not enjoying the fight between her and me. I think it would make more sense if she came straight to a title fight”, said the champion, in a press conference reproduced by the “Yahoo Sports” website.

Normally hostile towards her rivals, Ronda changed her stance and was full of praise for Carano. “She is one of the pioneers of the sport. It's because of her that I fight. How am I going to say 'no' to the woman I owe everything to? I would bow down to fight her. I'm not going to make her walk through a Polish hallway to fight me. I would even fight at her house if she wanted me to,” she said.
