Dana White reveals surprise after 'controversial' result between Marlon Vera and Cory Sandhagen

The president of Ultimate did not hide his astonishment at the score scored by judge Joel Ojeda and called the decision 'scary'

The 'controversial' split decision victory of Cory Sandhagen about Marlon Vera at UFC San Antonio it sounded strange even to the organization's president. In a press conference after the event last Saturday (25), Dana White said he did not understand the side judge who saw a triumph for the Ecuadorian and classified the decision as 'scary'.

“I was literally coming out of the bathroom and I was like, 'What the f*** is this?'. I think everyone was surprised. It could have been 5-0, but split decision? Wow, this is very scary. It certainly wasn't a split decision. I don’t even know who scored that fight as a split decision,” said Dana White.

Even after 25 minutes of complete dominance by Sandhagen, judge Joel Ojeda scored rounds 3,4 and 5 for Marlon Vera, while Sal D'Amato and Chris Lee saw victory for the North American. The controversial split decision caused huge controversy in the specialized press and even among MMA fighters and sports personalities.
